HOLY COW!! Where has the four months gone since I last wrote a blog??? I’m just kidding, I know where it’s gone: sickness, holidays, laziness. Yep, that about sums it up.
With the holidays and eating poorly, stomach issues where only mashed potatoes seemed to stay inside, and just getting older and not exercising enough (hardly at all if I’m honest), I’ve put on nearly 15 pounds!!!
As I am aging, I’m noticing that more and more I talk to myself out loud. I was giving myself a good verbal thrashing this morning about my weight and lack of exercise. I tried to think back to the exercise program I found easiest and most enjoyable to follow. Then I remembered it! Richard Simmons and his “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” VHS tapes. I love Richard Simmons and I love oldies! I began wondering aloud if his old VHS tapes are out in DVD format. Maybe that would get me enthused to exercise. I love listening to “oldies” music and doing exercise/dancing to them just made sense.
I Googled “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” DVD’s and sure enough, they exist. They are even carried by Amazon. So, I pulled up my trusty Amazon account and was getting ready to order the complete set. As I scrolled through the different offerings (which varied greatly in price), I found a complete set for about $30 and began checking out why there was such a huge difference in price between the $120 set and the set I had in my Amazon cart.
As I was doing my diligent comparison shopping and thoroughly reading the description of each offering, at the bottom of the page there was the usual “CUSTOMERS WHO VIEWED THIS ITEM ALSO VIEWED:” I began literally laughing out loud as my eyes fell on not other exercise DVD’s, but power tools!!! Not just any power tools, these were electric routers and router bits!!! Through the laughter I wondered why exercise DVD’s and routers would be shown together. I puzzled on it a bit and then made the decision on my purchase.
I’m proud to announce that later this week I will be the proud owner of a DeWalt Electric Router and a set of lovely router bits. I’m just going to CARVE this fat off and use the “curved” bits to sculpt a beautiful body. No sweat needed!!! Easy Peasy! Get ready world!!! Rosie is back in town!!
As sometimes happens, I did make an impulse purchase that was at the bottom of the DVD list. I couldn’t pass up this cool Richard Simmons Chia Pet Head! He’ll be great inspiration!….and if I get hungry while exercising, I can just nibble on his chia “hair”.
🤣😝😂🤪
You’ve GOT to be kidding!!!
That’s the craziest thing ever!!
Thank goodness you can return the tools!
Amazon, you’ve lost your mind!!😆
I know right??! That impulse buying gets me every time. 🙂 <3
It’s always so entertaining reading anything you post. I remember Richard Simmons and I think I would not be up to his workout. I too have gained 15 lbs. eating the wrong things and not getting enough exercise. I’m fortunate because I have not been ill like you have. I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you continue to improve and that Spring comes early. Love and hugs dearest friend, Irene
You know, Irene, I keep hanging onto to an article I read that said seniors should not be too thin….bones break easier without the padding. Sounds good to me! I think I’m about as good as if I were enveloped with bubble wrap! Love you my sweet friend!
Hi! That is great to hear. I’m in good shape then and that is comforting. Love you, Rose Mary
I love you too my dear friend!
